Is a chipped tooth a dental emergency?: A chipped tooth is not always an urgent emergency, but you should still give our office a call if you have one. Chipped teeth can easily break down further and develop decay if they are not promptly restored.

How you should handle a chipped tooth: Avoid touching your tooth in the meantime and take painkillers as needed. Use a cold compress to bring down any swelling or discomfort if it is present.

How we treat chipped teeth: More often than not, minor chips in teeth can be easily fixed with a tooth-colored composite resin. However, if the chip in your tooth is quite visible (such as your front tooth), we may recommend a veneer instead to ensure it looks as natural as possible.
